A return flight with Air New Zealand and a grant to cover all expenses for a three week trip to New Zealand to work and gain experience in the country's best restaurants and lodges, visiting food producers and wineries, with the option of one further week to explore and enjoy at their leisure.

Sponsored by the Craft Guild of Chefs, this year’s Culinary Challenge will take place at Westminster Kingsway College on Wednesday 11 April 2012 with a cocktail function to announce the winner to be held in The Penthouse of New Zealand House in the evening.

To a packed audience in the penthouse of London’s New Zealand House, Louisa Matthews, a 20 year old young chef from Eton College in Windsor, was awarded the coveted UK-NZ Culinary Challenge Award by well-known New Zealand celebrity chef of ‘The Providores and Tapa Room’ London and founder of the awards Peter Gordon.  More...
